 100marias

I began taking photo booth pictures in 1993 while enrolled as an MFA student in Intermedia at the University of Iowa headed by the German artist Hans Breder. Using performance art as a therapeutic tool, I chose photo booths to record my creative process. With these images I create space for myself in which I can be a whole person containing multitudes. These icons in my first NFT collection, 100marias, are small format digital art images building on my prior work with photo booths, using iPhone apps and more. I'm experimenting with these NFTs to learn what place I may have not tied to gallery exhibits, physical media, and the few who browse during COVID. Large format collections may follow. Future collections may be tied to choices in physical media, custom C-prints, or giclée prints to share, or be destroyed, or to replace burned NFTs as my collectors show their preference for any given piece.
