Wolf Game has always been more than a game — it’s been a cultural touchpoint for web3, blending high-stakes mechanics with a community-driven spirit that drew in everyone from Post Malone to Snowfro. Now, under the leadership of Seedphrase, the project is entering a new era on Abstract. A longtime supporter and player, he is steering Wolf Game back to its roots while pushing forward with bold ideas that expand its economy, storytelling, and gameplay.
In the following conversation, Seedphrase shares why the timing was right to take on this role, how he plans to reset and grow the game’s ecosystem, and what players can expect from the next chapter of this iconic title.

OpenSea: You’ve recently acquired Wolf Game and its IP from Pixel Vault, moving it to Abstract. As someone who has been a long-time supporter and fan of the project, what drew you to make this move now, and what has Wolf Game meant to you personally over the years?
Seedphrase: As a dedicated and long-standing fan, I openly expressed my admiration for Wolf Game. My journey into NFTs began in 2018 through gaming, a sector I saw as having the most potential for adoption and practical application. I questioned the point of playing video games solely for entertainment when time could be better spent having fun and making money. After a turbulent few years of multiple ownership transfers, observing the impact of AI on unemployment, and the growing momentum of Abstract Gaming, it felt like the opportune moment to spearhead and develop my vision for the future of GameFi.Our goal is to reclaim our position as a leading community-focused, earnings-driven player economy. This perfectly aligns with my conviction that GameFi will play a crucial role in the future.
OpenSea: Wolf Game has attracted cultural figures like Gary Vee, Post Malone, Snowfro, and Gmoney, and has always had a tight-knit community. Why do you think it resonated so strongly at its peak, and how are you planning to engage the existing community while also bringing in new players?
Seedphrase: Wolf Game's initial resonance stemmed from its innovative mechanics and the strong sense of community it fostered. The blend of risk, reward, and the "full-on degens" mentality created a unique and exciting experience that drew in prominent figures and a dedicated player base. This is pure crypto culture, and we’re even seeing it more than ever today with memecoins. People love a sense of community, or let’s say cults, and they want to take high conviction bets.
To engage the existing community, we need to make it clear that this time is different - starting with better communication and more transparency. I personally want to be in the trenches with the community and have a continuous pulse check on what we’re doing right, but also what we can improve. We also want to develop better game loops and features that make sense in a player-driven economy. Reward those who are constantly showing up and adding value to the ecosystem. As for onboarding, this is a general crypto issue. We want to ensure that everything that we do ties in with the rest of the ecosystem. So let’s say you discover Wolf Game through the high velocity of Caves. We want to educate and reward these players to further explore the hub of the game world in Valley. Not to mention, I will be using my position to reach out to content creators, brands, and other influential figures to help push the brand forward in a meaningful way.
OpenSea: The core game will stay true to the OGs, but you’ve said a reset is necessary to attract new players. How are you approaching that reset while balancing nostalgia with innovation?
Seedphrase: We extensively debated this internally. Our goal was to reward our long-standing community while not alienating potential new players who might perceive a late-game disadvantage. To strike this balance and ensure a welcoming experience for new players, we opted for a true reset under new management. This decision is justified by our rewards overhaul, the introduction of new game modes, and stricter control over WOOL distribution.
OpenSea: When you talk about Wolf Game evolving into a “true GameFi experience,” what does that mean in practice — and how does it set the project apart from other web3 games?
Seedphrase: From its onset, Wolf Game defined the category first through Alpha Game and then Cave Game and Valley. Players had the opportunity to outsmart their fellow players for outsized rewards. I want to take this same thinking and bring it into the new era. Expect new ways to play together, more risk, and even greater rewards.
OpenSea: You’ve hinted at better mechanics, new game modes, and ways for players to play together. Can you share more specifics about what players can expect — and how you’re designing short, addictive sessions that balance fun with complexity?
Seedphrase: One of the major changes coming will be the PlayPad. GameFi games have struggled to attract inflows outside of new player signups. Once new players stop being onboarded, the ecosystem dries up. We’re planning to solve this by working with token projects to distribute a percentage of their tokens through the game - effectively creating a distribution layer. This is a win/win for both WG and third party projects, as it means players are participating for pre and post TGE rewards, while the project benefits from better distribution, marketing, and education. This is a positive change from the current bundled supply and lifeless airdrop landscape where recipients don’t feel any meaningful attachment to the tokens that they receive, and in most cases, immediately sell.
As a large player in the past, it was always difficult for me to participate in crypto games unless I used clunky delegation mechanics. We want to ensure a player of any size can position themselves and participate in the community . We’re developing power tools that will allow whales to effectively set and forget. This means more in-game character interactions – and overall a more healthy ecosystem. Smaller, more active players will always have an advantage as they can constantly adjust their strategies, but for time poor individuals who want lower and potentially more stable outcomes, they will opt for automation.
In the vision of Shep, daily playtime shouldn’t exceed more than 30-60mins per day to maximise output. Every new game mode that we have been working on is focused on short and high impact experiences. Think of Valley as where players can team up and accumulate resources, loot sheep, and set taxes, among other things. Whereas, the main action will be preserved for Caves and Peak. This is where players can compete and earn outsized rewards, but there will be a lot more risk involved. The first game to bring these exciting concepts to life will be Caves: Dash & Grab, where players will be able to run through a maze-like cave for rewards.
OpenSea: How do you see Wolf Game’s evolution fitting into the broader web3 gaming landscape today?
Seedphrase: Wolf Game is one of the OG titles that caught mass appeal. Bringing back the addictive mechanics that made it so popular to a chain that is consumer centric is key. Abstract is experiencing a gaming resurgence and we feel that players old and new will get hooked on our offering. We are uniquely positioned in the market as a GameFi title that is heavily focused on rewarding its playerbase through fun and teamwork. Whereas most titles today either skew heavily towards gameplay, or are outright chance based games. We’ve created something truly unique with a living and breathing ecosystem that is focused on rewards and opportunity.
OpenSea: Beyond gameplay, Wolf Game has always carried a strong cultural and storytelling element. How do you see community-driven storytelling shaping the next chapter of the game?
Seedphrase: We've always been captivated by the enigmatic world governed by The Shepherd and the crowned wolves. Our goal is to dive deeper into this narrative, enriching the game with additional lore. In web3, compelling storytelling is paramount, and we aim to lead the way in creating a truly story-driven gaming experience. Expect new ways to learn about the world across various media formats.
OpenSea: What excites you most about Wolf Game’s future under your leadership?
Seedphrase: I’m most excited about building the game that I always wanted to play myself. Over the years, I’ve invested countless hours and resources into other people hoping they would fulfill what I thought was an interesting idea. Under my leadership, I’ve been given the creative freedom to fully explore what it means to be a true GameFi experience where storytelling, community, fun, and rewards are at the heart of the experience.

OpenSea: You’ve built a strong presence in web3 under the name Seedphrase. How has that identity shaped your journey so far, and how does it influence the way you’re approaching this new chapter with Wolf Game?
Seedphrase: It's a fitting full circle. I began with Axie Infinity in 2018, before my now-famous purchase of the 7-attribute CryptoPunk - resulting in collaborations with major brands like Swarovski and Louis Vuitton, curating art exhibitions, and DJing with Diplo. It's been an incredible journey so far, but I've always felt I had unfinished business in gaming. I was never fully satisfied with past crypto game development, and I'm now on a mission to create an experience that will resonate with players worldwide, regardless of their time or budget.
OpenSea: If you imagine someone playing Wolf Game a year from now, what do you hope their experience feels like?
Seedphrase: I hope they feel a sense of belonging and excitement, a connection to a thriving community, and the thrill of strategic gameplay. I want them to feel like their time invested is truly rewarding. Ultimately, I hope it feels like a refreshing and innovative take on GameFi that sets a new standard.
