About the project

Boys Club is a social DAO and media company bringing new voices to web3. Their Boys Club Zine Edition 01 was a free open edition mint representing the first edition of their new zine. They timed this mint with rising open edition popularity and an IRL activation at South by Southwest to create a fun and celebratory moment for their community. Using an NFT as the digital representation of their first zine was essential for allowing thousands of people to participate in this moment. 

Making waves with OpenSea

OpenSea’s self-serve drops product provided the tools and infrastructure for Boys Club to do this drop on their own without huge overhead or developers. The Boys Club team is small yet mighty, and OpenSea gave them the flexibility to move quickly and independently. 

OpenSea amplified this launch through promotion across OpenSea’s social channels and the OpenSea homepage.

How it went

The Boys Club Zine Edition 01 free mint ended with almost 84,000 editions minted. Community reception was incredibly positive, with Boys Club members and non-members alike excited to participate in this moment, and to have their participation memorialized on the blockchain as an NFT.
