物件劇場中的「物件」（object）二字，容易讓人以為重點是物品或道具。但觀眾一定會發現，操作者或演員──主體（subject）──再怎麼收束自我、搬有運無，身體都不會消失；甚至應該說，承認他們存在，再假設他們不存在，正是樂趣之一。

雙手後拉、前移，拋接、傳遞，這些源自童趣、百千年來的活動，現在進入數位時代，也就是區塊鏈藝術蓬勃發展的此刻，物件劇場如何發生？又怎麼改頭換面？手機螢幕是每天必看的鏡框式舞台，程式語言形塑了新的劇本，立體圖像則是粉墨登場的物件。

2022新舞臺藝術節邀請大家打開錢包，觀演之餘，也跟五件精巧小物一同生活，這裡的虛擬物件劇場可紀念，能收藏，供玩賞。它們依照自己的情緒翻轉、抖動、變色，隨著每一次與之相見的時間不同而有變化。給所有人的虛擬物件劇場就此開幕，豎起指尖，操作者就是你和我。

A Virtual Object Theatre for Everyone

The word “objec ” in object theatre might make people think that the focus should be placed on the items or props. However, the audience must surely realize that no matter how hard the puppeteers or actors, or the “subject,” try to conceal or maneuver themselves, their bodies will always be there. Thus, it could be said that recognizing the presence of the actors or puppeteers, and then pretending their absence, is partly where the fun is.

Using both hands to pull back, move forward, throw and catch, and pass; these movements, which originate in children’s entertainment and have been around for hundreds and thousands of years, are now also entering the digital era, a time when blockchain art is flourishing. How does object theatre take place in this new age? How does it transform itself? The screens of our mobile phones are proscenium stages that we gaze at every day; new scripts are being written in programming languages, and stereoscopic images are the stage props.

2022 CTBC Arts Festival is inviting all of you to open your wallets and, in addition to relishing the performances, enjoy the company of five fine items. This virtual object theatre can offer you something to commemorate, to collect, and to play with. They can flip, shake, and change colors based on their mood, so every time you look at them, they may show slight variations. A virtual object theatre for everyone is officially opening.
