Factories have been releasing heavy metal particles into the ecosystem with impunity for years. Mercury is released through the burning of coal and ends up directly in the sea, is ingested by marine life and ends up in the human food chain. Mercury weakens the foetus causing intellectual development problems, weakens the immune system and causes various health problems.
The collection is based off 5 original 30x30 inch mixed media wave paintings by Samantha Chilvers. Each Wave Junkie comes with a unique story about its creation that is designed to bring awareness to climate change, often with a sci-fi twist!
