This bull is part of a project entitled Icons and Symbols officially exhibited for the first time in a major solo exhibition at La Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan in January 2020. The bulls, or rather the bulls’ heads, which are extremely recognizable both as symbols and as icons, are all similar but different from each other both in their proportions, in the designs and decorations that chase each other from the horns to the muzzle, and in their colors. Thus, these are not Andy Warhol-like color reworkings of the same image but unique pieces that have the power of repetition despite being precisely unique pieces drawn and painted by hand u o for one. Ironic details such as the human ears complete with earrings and the nose ring like working animals lighten the meaning of the work on the one hand while opening new perspectives on the other. M. D.

Mauro Drudi collection image

Mauro Drudi was born in Cattolica, on the Adriatic coast, in December 1963. From a painter mother and a businessman father, he stopped painting in oil at the age of 7, stopped making advertising graphics at 15, stopped racing motorbikes at 20, studied at 21. He tries to fit into a "normal" life, but soon his artistic vein takes over. His reflections on the condition of women with the LEI project are significant, leading him to organize various personal exhibitions.
