##Work Title: PRESAGE The work features contemporary, abstract photographic details (laden with materials and colours) taken on the outskirts of Hong Kong. This detail is pervaded by the image of a Japanese man from the first half of the 20th century; the male figure, portrayed from behind, was painted in India ink and inspired by the 1936 film "The Only Son" directed by Yasujirō Ozu.

##OZU Collection The "Ozu" collection marks the debut of the Still Waiting project, which led the two artists to win the international "Malamegi Lab" competition. These early works express a characteristic common to future works, namely a clear oriental fascination, here due both to the photographic details (taken by Solieri in Hong Kong) and to Garilli's sketches inspired by Japanese cinema of the first half of the 20th century (particularly the films of director Yasujirō Ozu).

Still Waiting Nft collection image

The Still Waiting project, characterised by works embodying the "wabi-sabi" philosophy, arose from the encounter between director Alessandro Garilli and graphic designer Roberto Solieri.

Still Waiting's works are the result of historical as well as aesthetic research and arise from the interpenetration of abstract photography and figurative painting. In them, you can feel the power of material and colour; at the same time, however, you are gripped by a feeling of introspection that favours a vision of "melancholic beauty”.
