The artwork poetically illustrates the inner thoughts of an individual who is in conflict with their-self, but understands and realizes this flaw. They strive to overcome it and gain peace in their mind. The artwork depicts this using various masks, colours, and dragonflies. The environment is made to appear as the mind of the individual, encircled with three distinct colours that breaks down the goal of the individual. The lowest layer "White" signifies simplicity, wanting to do away with all other things that don't really mean much. The second layer, "Blue", signifies the state of being emotionally sensitive, with an aim for freedom and trust in oneself. The uppermost layer, "Red", signifies sacrifice, doing away with the former self to become ones true self. The masks symbolizes the personas of the individual, with the first being that of elegance, and brilliance. The second, of pain and regret. The feather mask symbolizes hope, and the aim for growth. The last mask symbolizes chaos. The hollow eyes even with the masks symbolizes the emptiness in each character the individual puts on. The dragonflies symbolizes two things in this artwork. The first being transformation, as they are the carriers of the masks for the character. The second being self-realization, knowing that the personas will not bring forth happiness. The poem compliments the artwork by giving the character depth. Illustrating their beauty, their grace, their strength, and their aim for completeness.
