Organisms uses a combination of organic and inorganic materials to create a wide range of patina’s amongst the copper plate. Certain parts of the composition become more controlled, whereas, others are left to develop fortuitously.
My name is Joshua Finlay and I come from the small town of Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, but moved to the big city of Cape Town - to chase my dream of becoming an artist. I achieved my Honours in Fine Arts at Stellenbosch University in 2021, where I focused on ideas of Plasticity and the motion of polymers amongst materials. I document chemical reactions and try to bring to light details usually missed by the human eye. Allowing others to see from my point of view is what inspires me to create.
