Tony Morrison (born Chloe Ardelia Wofford, February 18, 1931 - August 5, 2019 [1] ) is an American novelist, editor and professor emeritus at Princeton University . She won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 for the novel Beloved , according to which a film of the same name was made in 1998 (starring Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover). In 1993, she also received the Nobel Prize for Literature
