This artwork aimed to consider the consequences of some businesses that can't see beyond the damage their companies had on society, particularly in New York. Oxycodone is sold for medicinal purposes; however, it has a secondary market that ultimately devastates the users and, in turn, the city they inhabit. I wanted to visually represent the destruction that could lead to the demolition of those famous New York landmarks if the use continued to spread. This artwork is featured in Lil Diamond Smith's Book "Futurist: New York Edition." available on Amazon and Apple.
Inspired by the 2022 poem of the same name by Lil Diamond Smith. The artwork portrays deftly drawn characters and caricatures, surprising comical delights amid the backdrop of the hustle of New York life. Using a range of approaches from expressionism to psychotropic nightmare fantasy, this collection evokes the essential humanity, well hidden as it is, of their generally ambitious, disillusioned, desperate characters who are trying to survive in a city that becomes increasingly more demanding. The collection specialises particularly in revealing the illusions about advanced digital life―a museum attacked by drones, a financier stressed to the point of fury and the statue of liberty circled by drones.
