In issue four, the reader gets more answers as the Nahualli universe expands. The family meets a mysterious character in the woods and she sheds some light on the nature of the Kids' powers. New characters are introduced and the protagonists have new objectives.
In this issue, the art style has made another step forward toward a more traditional comic style. My evolution as an artist has been slow but I am patient with this project. As I learn new techniques, I am also finding that I will want to bring back techniques I had used before and hopefully this will lead to a style true to me.
First collectors can opt into a special edition printed copy of this comic. Once collected, the unlockable link will allow for shipping the IRL collectible.
This comic is a story that is inspired by heroes in my life. My Brothers, My Parents, and other powerful brown people in my life. This first series introduces the heroes as children as they figure out their powers and the source of them as they navigate other threats in their universe.
As a brown creative, I found that there was a lack of heroes in the Comic/Superhero Industries with powers related to Ancient American Indigenous cultures so I decided to make my own. I have been working on this project for a long time and intend on building this as I build my skills. Grow as a creative as the characters grow into their abilities.
It's a journey for me to try to get in touch with my indigenous roots, and so will it be for the characters in this story.
I will create a new token for each new issue specific to that issue. By the end of this first series, I hope to be able to start a team to create more consistently and at a higher level.
I hope you enjoy!
