#The Iraq-American Conflict
Originally, A Scene from the Spanish War of Independence, is a painting by the Spanish painter Francisco Goya. The painting portrays the bleakness of the Spanish war against the French, the palette further emphases the depths of the conflict.
The bleakness in this painting aptly represents the Iraqi war. Much like the Spanish repealing the French, the Iraqis are repealing the Americans. The painting shows the American flag being planted while Iraqis are being gunned down leading to fall of the Iraqi flag (symbolising the country), an oil rig in the background which sums up the reason behind the conflict.
In our Times Change - Conflict now, then collection we've created 12 unique original paintings. Each NFT takes an old masterpiece and re-interprets it to showcase a modern theatre of conflict, war or protest. Subtly highlighting the nuances of that conflict whilst aligning it within the masterpiece. It depicts a what if the modern conflict (now) was to have taken place then paradigm.
