This scene of Palermo, with three colorful umbrellas and an awning, depicts a hot afternoon with traditional Italian architecture as the backdrop. Michelle loved the simplicity of early twentieth century Italian architecture, as opposed to more contemporary designs. This painting hung over the piano in the dining room of her apartment in Miami Beach for twenty years. Michelle decided to sign the painting in the lower left hand corner, on the short white wall, a departure from the traditional location of painting signatures in the lower right-hand corner. This painting marks one of her first impressionist works, a style which she did not duplicate for many years thereafter.
This is a 1/1 NFT of the original 24" x 48" inch oil painting.
Michelle's paintings are currently being shown at the Millennium Gate Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. Michelle's exhibition debuted on the 26th of June 2021 and will continue for the following months.
On the same day that Michelle's artworks debuted, the Cuban community of Atlanta came together at the Millennium Gate Museum to celebrate liberty for Cuba. This day was officially declared José Martí Day by the governor of Georgia. During this event, a statue of José Martí was revealed by the Martí Historical Society, Inc. with well-known guests Andy García and Enrique Chia. We hope this statue serves as a symbol representing hope for a free Cuba, and not just Cuba, but in all places... As if a signal fire from God declared to us what was to come for Cuba on July 11th, 2021.
Michelle's art reminds us of the light of this world. Taking us through the sacred hallway to the sea that sets us free. Michelle's art now walks the seas of OpenSea with NFTs of her oil paintings.
