BRIEF HISTORY OF THE NFT WHALE SOCIETY
Imagine that we are in space, we would likely first notice that the Earth appears blue. The reason it looks blue is the oceans - about 3/4 of the Earth's surface is water. The sea is a key element for the existence of life on Earth. The atmosphere we breathe controls the weather and climate, and it is intimately connected to the oceans - half of the oxygen produced by plants is produced in the ocean, and the oceans are also responsible for absorbing 50% of the carbon dioxide humans have released into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels.
Growing up on the coast, my love of the sea is something that can't be understated. Salt air fills my lungs, rust my furniture and cleanses my soul. The ocean is the heart of our planet. When I'm body surfing and see honeybun wrappers floating in the water it pisses me off and you should feel the same way.
The project is titled the NFT Whale Society, an art initiative to spread awareness about ocean conservation. We chose whales because they are our aquatic cousins; not only are they the biggest creatures in the world, they are the most majestic.
Be Whale,
~Frank
