Lawrence Ben Miles is known as “VIP Ben” to some, “The Mayor of Harlem to others, and the Negotiator, the Connector and the Women in Business Advocate to the many women entrepreneurs he has met during his 15 years as the Business Assistant of the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce. He works tirelessly and demonstrates every day his loyalty and commitment to the Women’s Chamber and its mission, as well as to the thousands of women and minority entrepreneurs the organization represents. Lawrence started with New York Women's Chamber of Commerce in 2007. Over the years, he has become a champion, a friend, a confidant, and the most active and devoted promoter of women and minority owned businesses. His tireless efforts in marketing, promoting and connecting women and minority owned businesses throughout NYC and beyond have won him the well-deserved titles of “The Negotiator” and “The Connector.” Prior to his role at New York Women's Chamber of Commerce, Lawrence was in the Music Business, where he started in 2000 and worked as a promoter with various labels, including Motown records, Atlantic records and more. During his time in the Music world, he also became a dancer and was featured in several music videos. Fifteen years ago, Lawrence brought his experience and skills as a promoter and a marketer to the Women’s Chamber. Since then, he has dedicated his life to advocating, promoting, connecting and opening doors for thousands of women entrepreneurs of color in NYC, becoming a Champion of women business owners.

Lawrence was been awarded the Champion of Women in Business Award by Harlem News for his work and dedication. His ability to connect people and communities for the greater good is what makes him a Harlem Born Super Hero.
