Matthew R. Cory is a Pacific Northwest artist living just south of Seattle. He is a poet, a musician, an artist, a graphic designer, a runner, an occasional mind reader, a husband and a father of three wonderful people.

Artist Statement:

"My work is a balance of Order and Chaos. I enjoy the process of creating big, energetic strokes of color mixed with repetative patterns - figurative forms over geometric shapes - symbolism and words alongside abstraction. The hope is that the viewer will enjoy the unity of the whole piece while simultaneously being able to dive into every corner and find another world waiting.

"We find ourselves in a dualistic universe. By playing with combinations of patterns and solids, modern and ancient, material and spiritual, I intend to create pieces that possess both tension and unity. I enjoy making art in a variety of styles and mediums, writing and singing songs as a member of the band Half Acre Day, working as a graphic artist, writing poems and lyrics, and building things with my kids."
