On Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 1 p.m. U.S. Pacific Time, 4 p.m. Eastern Time, the U.S. Transhumanist Party invited Joe Bardin to discuss how art, literature, the performing arts, cinema, and other creative media could be used most effectively to promote radical life extension.

Joe thinks humanity as a whole – and humans as individuals – would be better off if they thought lengthening this life indefinitely would be possible and desirable. For one, this would devote resources to curing aging, and get us closer to immortality. But moreover, he believes humanity would be more optimistic and friendly – and less cavalier with others’ lives and feelings – if mortality were not a given. He considers immortalists to be the most real people, and mortalists stuck in pretending that death is acceptable. He thinks the right narrative will get us there. Joe Bardin is the author of “Outlier Heart: Essays from My Life as an Immortalist” (IFERS Press). His essays have been published in numerous literary journals and magazines, and have been anthologized in “The Transhumanism Handbook” (Springer). His plays have been performed both domestically and abroad. Joe serves as Director of Communications for People Unlimited and the Coalition for Radical Life Extension, the presenter of RAADfest. He is an accomplished messaging strategist working with established and startup brands to strategically differentiate them in the marketplace.

What We Stand For: The U.S. Transhumanist Party is focused on policy rather than politics as conventionally defined. We value initiatives and reforms that will improve the human condition for as many people as possible, with as much beneficial impact as possible – and without regard for scoring political points or defeating “the other side”. We seek to achieve the next, greatest era of our civilization, which will require constructive solutions to the problems of our current era. All of these problems can be solved if we look away from the political trench warfare of today and up toward a far brighter future.
