015.Nara Park/Nara

Nara Park is located in the eastern part of Nara City and stretches from the spacious precincts of Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Kofukuji Temple, and Todaiji Temple to Kasuga Okuyama, which has been the sacred area of Kasuga Taisha Shrine since the Heian period (794-1192) and has been untouched by humans. The park is covered with beautiful lawns and 1,000-year-old pine trees, where about 1,300 deer play in herds. In the back of the park, there are rolling lawns of Mount Wakakusa, Mount Kasuga, Mount Koen, and blue mountains that gently embrace the ancient capital of Nara.

奈良公園は奈良市街の東一帯で、春日大社、興福寺、東大寺の広々とした境内から、平安朝以来春日大社の神域として人の手が入らず原始林の生い茂る春日奥山までの東西約４ｋｍ、南北約２ｋｍにおよぶ広大な公園です。 美しい芝生と樹齢1000年の松木立におおわれ約1,300頭の鹿が群れ遊び、その奥にはなだらかな芝生の若草山、春日山、高円山と、古都奈良を優しく抱くように青い山々が連なっています。
