While Lester is in jail waiting for the pardon that he was promised by his MAGA cronies, he’s assigned to the prison education program (to avoid manual labor). He has to complete reading and writing assignments from "Walden; or, Life in the Woods." As his life on the outside falls apart Lester is drawn kicking and screaming into the transcendental vision of Henry David Thoreau's ode to solitude and spirituality
