"The Block" combines inspiration from urban architecture, texture, and human collaboration. Artist A.L. Grime draws inspiration from street art and the beauty of painting alongside others and sharing stories on walls. Just as painting on city blocks has created a new creative culture, writing code on the blockchain is propelling a new cultural shift. She invites others to create patterns that tell their story, express their mood, or capture the moment in a single square on the piece. By making their mark, collaborators are able to contribute to a visual narrative of the renaissance we are contributing to and experiencing together. In the end, what is left is the abstraction of a structure that holds dozens of individual experiences of a moment in time.
