Modulator One is the first online generative photography NFT project -- an experiment in collaboratively authoring a past moment and experiencing its mutable nature.
Each image acts as a different recollection of the same moment under alternate lighting through photographic technology called platelight. These are generated upon being collected, co-authored by the unique fingerprint of a collector's wallet. The project also includes one interactive video -- a record of this moment of creation, changeable through interaction.
This work is set in the construction site of a house -- a stage for shifting history and memory, where the past can be shaped into new stories, histories and identity.
In a sense this project has also become a recollection of this moment for photography and the blockchain with works generated by Alejandro Cartagena, Cristina de Middel, Alec Soth, Roe Ethridge, Justin Aversano, Reuben Wu and others here building and creating.
