Sylphides 3.1 presents 200 sylphs in embryological form. Several elements of the dance language, such as the waltz, the wheel, the turn, the support and control point, the mobility of the joints and the relationship with gravity were submitted to the logic of animation and 3D simulation, such as soft bodies, bodies plastics, expanding and contracting force fields, wind, fluids, low gravity, and impulsive surfaces. Thus, there is a collective dance corps, with a single pulse, but with particular focuses and dismemberments, exploring the relationship between elements of classical ballet and modern and contemporary dance. The work is cradled by an original historical recording, published in 1916, of “Les Sylphides”, by Serguei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes.
