Beach Vendors collection image

"Beach Vendors” is an ongoing project about independent workers who make a living selling merchandise on beaches around the world. The project combines photography, video, audio and written interviews, as well as buying products from the vendors. In this body of work, Romina looks into the culture and socio-economic lives of the very edge of our continents, and seeks to visually unwrap the reality of those who have the beach not as a space of leisure, but as a workplace.

Along with the visuals, Romina is creating ethnographic research to understand more the experience of this sector of the economy and how the changing world, both physically with climate change and digitally with cryptocurrency may change their lives.
