Abaco Islands, Bahamas, Sep 2019-March 2020
Category 5 Hurricane Dorian devastated The Bahamas. The WCK began cooking hot meals in Nassau – about 80 miles away – that were flown over to makeshift shelters, healthcare facilities, churches, and local neighbourhoods in Abaco. In Grand Bahama, established a second kitchen to provide lunch and dinner to impacted communities. Serving 30,000 daily meals, served more than 1 million meals in just over 5 weeks. Over the next few months, WCK continued to adapt to the situation delivering meals by land, air, and sea.

Digital collectibles (42 NFTs) WCK/José Andrés by Mikel Urmeneta in favor of WCK fundraising. World Central Kitchen is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. They build resilient food systems with locally led solutions.
