Cascade Dreamscape
From a solitary moment from the summit of Snowking Mountain, Washington.
A 4 am wake up call to push for the summit, howling wind that leached the warmth from my core, and pure bliss as I stood atop one of my main objectives for 2022. As I stood alone atop this remote summit, I could see some of my future objectives off in the distance, I could see the route snaking its way along the lengthy ridge line, and I could see a seemingly infinitely expansive sea of glacially covered peaks.
Watching the light blanket the landscape as the sun slowly rose from it's nightly slumber, I was in awe at how pearlescent the glaciers appeared as they sparkled in the light. I'll forever be left speechless when engulfed in a landscape like the North Cascades where time seems to slow, stress dissipates from your body, and peace of mind is easily attainable.
A collection of 30 1/1 images captured amongst the rugged mountains of the North Cascades in Washington, by Daniel Fowler. Over 200 miles traveled on foot, over 100,000 feet of elevation gain climbed, almost four years of persevering in the mountains, and well over 150,000 photographs taken...welcome to Cascade Dreamscape.
Throughout my life, I dreamt of going on adventurous expeditions to the farthest reaches of our planet, especially the remote mountains here in the United States. Over the past few years, I've had the privilege of being able to document these fragile environments and have seen first hand just how quickly they are changing due to climate change. These photographs are just brief moments frozen in time that help document the beautiful glaciated landscapes of the North Cascades.
