Dscreet is an Australian artist from a graffiti background. His passion for art began as a child. He got into the NYC style graffiti world and later turned to street art. Dscreet moved to East London when street art was blowing up and wanted to be immersed into different cultures to expand his creativity. His work has evolved into muralism and gallery installations; he works with a mix of painting, sculpture, film and light installation. Dscreet has exhibited at galleries in London, New York, Paris, Los Angeles and Melbourne amongst many others.
THE OTHER SIDE
‘The Other Side’ is inspired by the song ‘Break On Through (To the Other Side)’ by The Doors, as well as Dscreet’s own near death experience where he came very close to passing to the next realm. He felt like he was going towards the light, represented by the white owl, and there was a psychedelic explosion of the ‘other side’. Dscreet felt this experience was a turning point in his life and it pushed him to follow his creative pursuits. The original mural was painted in Shoreditch, London UK.
Dscreet’s street art is inspired by an electrified owl that has appeared in galleries, books, films and streets all over the world.
