MINEVO's attitude toward art:

'Nowadays, the balance between the mind and matter is dynamically diversified, and it tends to decline much to the matter side. The matter started to control our mind world gradually.

'In our history, artists used only hands and brushes to express their concepts and imagery dimensions on their canvases. However, today our imagery world is rapidly changing compared to the good old days. For me, it's somehow getting difficult to express my images just by using hands and brushes.

'So now I am using computer & graphic software as my hand and brushes to express my outer space cosmical images not only from the matter side but also from the mind side. In order not to be controlled by the matter, I never use high functions of my software but using only the very basic parts of it.

'I love the vast calculating ability of computer and to create a cosmic surrealistic imagery world with my inner energies. My studio is also just like a Japanese ukiyo-e (woodblock print) laboratory. I might be a contemporary cosmic ukiyo-e artist, with computer software for an engraver, printer for a woodblock printer.' - MINEVO, 2020

About MINEVO:

MINEVO was born in Japan. Due to his father's job, he has lived in several different countries since he was eight years old, including Thailand, Germany and the United States. He often says that this valuable experience of moving from East to West has shaped him as a 'cosmic mind' artist.

He studied contemporary American art in New York, then moved back to Japan in 1971, and has been active as a contemporary artist since then. He is interested in using computers as a medium to express his imaginary world, and this includes the limitless possibilities of the blockchain.
