When attempting to dissolve subjects into the light, I play with various settings to arrive at a sweet spot between faultlessly depicting a human and rendering them into otherworldly shapes (ideally, I will land somewhere right in the middle). In the case of this shot, someone bumped into me right when I pressed the shutter button, and at that point, I was no longer the author of the image.
