Chapter 2408: Breakfast Blend (2408 Tacocat)
Music by Super Secret Band
Artwork By Roving Stars
“This ‘feature’ made it really tricky to keep track of how long we’d been in the zoo, which is something we’ve actually never figured out. It also made it tricky to plan an escape. You see each individual would usually carry a few thoughts through the loop, but up until now, we hadn’t quite mastered how to control which thoughts made it through. By the time we realized we were trapped it was time for the last song and we’d awake as if 97%-99% of the day never happened.
This time we had a plan. As the crowd moved into the seating above and around us, we rolled the ball down the hill.
Tacocat had told us she would come out early today, chase a few lasers around to get the crowd worked up. During one of her chases she would drop off the music and a bag of her best weed to us like usual but would also include a secret flash drive outlining in reversed audio how to escape the zoo over the course of 9 loops. It was an elaborate plan and if any details didn’t make it through this loop we’d be on our own to put the puzzle back together.
When the drive arrived we popped it into Brill’s keyboard and combined the escape schematic sounds (at a very low volume) with the sample of the Giraffe’s trumpet. Samples from the Giraffe’s trumpet were a favorite among the visitors as the last thing they heard before being portaled back to their planet. Some claimed it helped with any vertigo, others swore it made the memories last. No one would notice a thing, and if we timed the Elixir correctly, we might actually be on the path to a 9 loop exit back to the Goodfoot”
