"This is a scan from a 2022 roll of Delta 400 35mm film. This image was taken in January 2022, at the Saint-Gabriel Locks on the Lachine Canal. This is a picture of freshly fallen snow on a ledge of the canal. It is taken with a 25mm Carl Zeiss lens. My interest in photography goes back to childhood. In the 90s, I spent a lot of time in the darkroom at McGill University, printing from 35 mm film. I continue to shoot on 35 mm film, but I have increasingly used various digital cameras as well. I like digital photography, but using a roll of film is a different type of contemplation with its own beauty and constraints.
