senseofplace LAB was founded by Laura Halsey Brown as an artistic laboratory for public art and art+architectural SEL education projects. Public art projects have been created nationally, including San Francisco, NYC and Washington State and internationally. Intra-disciplinary art works are included in national and international collections; shown at the New Museum in NYC; received many awards and grants such as Stimurlings Fonds voor Architectuur for a project in Rotterdam, the Netherlands; the 2012 Mastermind Award; Jurors Choice Award juried by Sandra Phillips, Photography Curator Emeritus of SFMOMA.
Art works are influenced by place, architecture, Buddhism, Arte Povera (70's Italian movement using 'poor' materials) – and neurodiversity. Time and memory are inherent concepts in the work.
