060_雷神 日本の民間伝承や神道における雷の神。菅原道真などをまつる天神も雷神の一種とされる。さまざまな日本画などの美術作品に描かれる、基本的には神道の神だが、三十三間堂など一部の寺では仏像として祀られている。仏教では天部に属しており、二十八部衆の家来という位置づけになっている。ルーツのひとつとしてヴァルナと呼ばれる水の神がいる。仏教における１２天の水天とのつながりもあるのかもしれない。

In Buddhism, he belongs to the heavenly realm and is positioned as a retainer of the Twenty-eight Devas. One of his roots is a water deity called Varuna. There may be a connection with the water heaven of the 12 heavens in Buddhism.
