I was in a Japanese mood when I made this.
The reflection of a Shinto is seen in the water just like the red sun. All elements are aimed at giving you the feeling of the wonderful mystery that surrounds Japanese culture.

Sometimes I have a thought out plan and sometimes I just like to start with nothing and let my the drawing lead me(that doesn’t always work).
I like mystery, contradictions and opposites. Black and white versus color. Complicated versus simple. Real versus imaginary.
I often have these elements(and others) in my illustrations.
