DUSK IN SANTA FE is one of a series of payne's grey based paintings chronicling a fall 2020 trip to the American Southwest. The roadtrip provided the seeds of inspiration for BLOOM, a series painted a couple months later in Joshua Tree. In DUSK, I start to explore the stroke, layer, and color treatment that I would then expand upon -- and which would eventually become my signature style. While abstract, this is one of my most literal works and moves closest to the abstract expressionist style.
I also consider this the beginning of what would eventually be my [Desert Minis series] (https://opensea.io/collection/desert-minis).
The original painting was 20" x 20", oil on canvas. It was painted in San Francisco, CA after my trip. The collector of the physical twin purchased the painting as a birthday gift for her sister.
BLOOM is the first ever NFT collection by abstract artist Alex (amac) Maceda. The collection was minted between March - October 2021 and is now complete, and no new works will be added.
Eight pieces at 0.1eth were released in October 2021 in conjunction with her article, 'The Case for Fine Art NFTs' (https://amac.substack.com/p/the-case-for-fine-art-nfts). No 1/1s will ever be released at this price going forward.
From May 11, 2021 to May 11 2022, amac will also be releasing daily #desertminis, 1/1 watercolors based on her first year in the desert: https://opensea.io/collection/desert-minis
