The Multiples series is a reaction against static photography. It's an idea and technique that is applied to an evolving variety of subject matter. The result is images that are at once fleeting yet representative - an impression that can speak a broader insight than straight documentation. There is an obvious reference to impressionism but a strong heritage of still life, street, and landscape photography as well.
While the Multiples series is shot on digital cameras, it’s important that the work is created in camera and has minimal digital intervention to arrive at the final image. This is photography, it is not digital art.

The history of photography is a story of balancing technology with creativity. New technologies have always given rise to new ways to express ideas.
I'm interested in making candid images using traditional photographic techniques, and I really like the textures, abstractions, and unexpected images that multiple exposures create. This body of work started with cityscapes and nature scenes but has evolved to include crowds and more impressionistic subjects.
While the Multiples series is shot on digital cameras, the work is created in camera and has minimal digital intervention to arrive at the final image. This is photography, not digital creation.
