The "Bamboo Portraits"
What are they? Are they western tourists who got lost in a bamboo forest in a far away place and are still happily posing in front of the camera for the next Instagram post, since they have no knowledge of the situation they are in? Or are they re-identifiable beings in a human, in an all-too-human robe, living somewhere on the edge of the world similar to the skiapods? Or are they even in our midst? Perhaps they are all a cynical commentary, packaged as a wolf in sheep's clothing, on the hyped, mostly colorful NFT Collectibles projects. We'll probably never know, like a lot of things. What we do know for sure, however, is that any of them would be better suited as a profile picture on your social media than any swimsuit vacation snapshot of you.

After his very first two NFTs, which he donated to the Kunsthaus Steffisburg's NFT Art for Freedom Collection, the notorious and famous Swiss artist Beni Bischof has now definitely entered the digital space with the creation of the second NFA Art Edition.
Beni Bischof is a tireless observer and an even more tireless creator, using drawing, collage, painting, sculpture, installation, written word, and now new digital resources to materialize his thoughts on society, general human phenomena, as well as politics, usually with an ironic finger pointing that is often not only relativizing but also disempowering, and in this capacity scratching the surface of things to expose their structure – all "made by humans on earth".
