The vertical strip is a hanging tower set in the outskirts of Las Vegas located as a vision on a dramatic site next to the Hoover Dam and the Bypass Bridge. The light weight upside down structure hangs from a massive plinth freely into the valley. The light and luminous structure, similar to a drill, winds into the depth of the valley and provides the experience of falling in a spiral winding movement. The resulting environments developed by these architectural languages are distributed vertically to create extreme spatial sequences. The plinth with an event space on top and the floors of the hanging structure are designed with framed and dramatic views offering a perfect location for happenings and shows.

The day vision enlightens the fragile structure of the tower emphasizing the beauty of the form whereas the night vision shows a futuristic science fiction living organism at an awkward site using nature as an energy source with one amazing difference: Stephan’s tower CAN BE BUILT IN REAL LIFE.
