This is a beautiful whale shark with whom I snorkelled back in 2009 in Sharm el Sheikh. We'd just left the jetty for a day's diving and someone yelled out "Whale Shark!" and we all jumped in! We kept a good distance, as you should when swimming with whale sharks, but this one was friendly and I literally had to swim aside to make room for her to head past me, totally unperturbed by our presence. It was a good year, we had so many whale shark sightings that summer, which is actually quite strange for that time of year. Funny enough they had a lot of sightings in 2019 too... so I wonder if this could be a 10 year cycle??? Watch this space. 😁🐳
