Shot on top of Wild Horse Mesa a few miles north of the Colorado state line. This is one of the scariest places I've ever seen in the wild. The hole is easily wide enough to fall into with one leg. I couldn't gauge the depth of the chamber below, which extends off to the left, but a dropped rock bounces audibly three or four times as it falls. The symbolism is powerful. Rarely has any natural feature of a landscape felt so dangerous. I couldn't live anywhere near it. 3000 x 2250, 300 ppi.

New Mexico belongs to God and we just pass on through. As I once wrote, "The thing was though, they'd done it, the entire Taos murder trip, yet both of them were still together, healthy, and the love danced in her eyes." Kathy & I moved from Maryland to Taos County in 1999. The landing was a shock but we gave it all we had. New Mexico is never easy but stupendous. The story's in the photographs & their descriptions. JHFARR.ART is relevant. NFTs are 1/1s. - JHF
