The Infinity Turbine ROT (Radial Outflow Turbine) 24 has been deployed in many IT50 ORC Waste Heat to Energy Systems worldwide, and is the workhorse for Organic Rankine Cycle systems. Purpose: The 24 inch (610 mm) diameter turbine design takes pressurized working fluid (steam, refrigerants like R245fa or R134, compressed air, water, and more) and expands that pressurized flow to spin a shaft. The shaft horsepower drives a AC or DC generator, or can be used for other shaft drive purposes. Benefits: The ROT turbine can be directly connected to a conventional AC induction motor, which when spun faster than it's rated design (1,800 rpm or higher) it becomes a AC generator. Between the generator output and grid needs to be the necessary switchgear to connect to the grid to sell power back into the system. What is included: all the designs including parts, suppliers, drawings (cad cam), and all design notes. We will also include a opt-out blueprints and equipment sales revenue package, which allows Infinity to continue to license the blueprints or build systems which incorporate the turbine into energy systems. All revenue from the blueprints and equipment go to the owner of the NFT. This is a opt-out option (you must opt-out to discontinue the relationship). Worldwide Rights: As the owner of this NFT you own the design, and may resell, license, or repackage the turbine. You may also scale up or scale down the design. You may also number up the design for higher power output. Power Output: The ROT 24 is design to drive a 300 kW or less induction AC generator. You can scale up or down, or number up or down the turbine for greater power output. Unique Design: The ROT 24 is design to fit within a standard Steel pipe with 24 inch diameter (maximum 30 inch diameter) pipe using Gruvlok couplings on the front and back. The ROT 24 turbine is mounted on the AC induction motor generator shaft which utilizes the existing generator bearings. Design Pressure: This specific ROT 24 is designed for 300 psi or less. You can adjust materials and generator selections for higher pressures. Design Operating Temperature: The operating temperature is dependent on the enclosed AC induction motor generator insulation rating (105 C rise for Class F, and 125 C rise for Class H) and the material of the ROT 24 rotor (we use aluminum for ORC applications). If you are using steam or other working fluids at higher temperatures (above 100C) then we recommend using a magnetic coupling and an external generator (AC or DC) and using stainless steel (other other suitable material) for the rotor material. Expandable Power: Using multiple rotors you can increase the power using the same shaft. Easy to Manufacture: This design is easy to manufacture. We have optimized the design for rapid delivery to market. The rotor and stator can be machined from a solid block of steel, or waterjet or laser cut buckets and bolted to a solid plate, or cast in carbon fiber (temperature dependent), or even 3D printed in metal. Royalty: The royalty on this is 10 percent.
