The color purple is one of those colors that is hard to describe, but most people who see it say, “that color just makes me feel something.” The word “purple” comes from the Greek word πορφύρα (porphura), the name of the Tyrian purple dye manufactured in classical antiquity from mucus secreted by the spiny dye-murex snail. However, today the color purple is often associated with royalty. I love finding the beauty of the color purple in my own backyard.
