Hortus is an expert gardener, having studied for years at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to learn how to nurture plants and fungi to support all life on Earth. While often dismissed as mere “decoration,” Hortus wants you to know that indoor plants are key to our health and well-being – they clean the air and lift our spirits. If you’ve ever struggled to keep your plants – indoor or outdoor – alive, Hortus would be delighted to assist you. Hortus takes an organic, holistic approach to gardening because she knows balance supports all life forms – we need insects and fungi too. You’ll often find her sitting next to a plant, eyes closed, singing softly. If you look closely you might see the plant swaying to her tune.

Hortus enjoys iced mint tea and dried seaweed snacks. She’s a vegan, of course, but doesn’t want you to fuss over her – she’s quite handy in the kitchen and would be happy to share her cookbook full of easy to prepare plant-based meals.
