Team GB athletes scored three golds and two silvers for on the day heretofore known as ‘Magic Monday’ at the Tokyo Olympics. Swimmer Adam Peaty, divers Tom Daley and Matty Lee and mountain biker Tom Pidcock all won gold. Now, for the first time in the history of Olympic competition, fans can own this magic medal moment forever.

It was a medal outpouring of historic proportion, with TeamGB winning three golds in just five hours.

As many expected, Adam Peaty retained his 100m breaststroke title early morning UK time, becoming the first British swimmer to defend an Olympic title. More joyfully unexpected was Tom Daley – alongside Matty Lee – finally realising his gold medal ambitions after 13 years. Equally as surprising, Tom Pidcock rode to mountain bike glory on this third day of the Tokyo Games.

This magical day was bookended by an early-morning silver for triathlete Alex Yee and a late-night silver for taekwondo star Lauren Williams.

Magic Monday rivaled London 2012’s Super Saturday and Rio 2016’s Sensational Sunday for Team GB.

Working through the morning to capture the magnitude and emotion associated with the Medal Moments of “Magic Monday”, Team GB artist in residence Ben Mosley said this about his inspiration:

“Today’s mural is a celebration of British athleticism at its best with 5 superstars winning medals for their country. Adam Peaty’s gold medal ensures that Britain is one of the only countries to win a medal at every Olympic Games. I wanted to show his power as if he was breaking the barriers swimming through glass to smash his way home to gold. Then you have the magnificent achievements of Tom Daley and Matty lee, Tom Pidcock, Alex Yee and Lauren Williams who all won gold for their country. I’ve used real palladium and 24k gold leaf to honour their achievement.”
