Inspired by Vitra’s miniatures series, Mitchell is providing collectors the opportunity to own real physical scale prototype models used to develop his works.

Each prototype is noted on the base with signature, revision number, date and a unique NFT identifier code linked to the blockchain to ensure authenticity for future resale. Also included with each item is a handwritten note, on a postcard of the final design, detailing the history of the prototype and the aspect being evaluating in this model.

When you purchase this NFT, you will receive an email asking where you want your physical collectible shipped to and a password to access https://markmitchelldesign.com/Collectors-Page. The Collectors Dashboard contains behind the scenes content revealing far more of my design process, insider tips and free downloadable design files. Shipping takes between 2-6 weeks.

Mark Mitchell Design - Collectables collection image

Born in England in 1997, Mitchell has worked as an Industrial Designer in Cambridge, London, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Jakarta and presently resides in Amsterdam working with an award winning Dutch branding and industrial design studio. His career started early at age 17 when a London homewares brand bought the manufacturing rights to a bird box that he designed for a school project. Since this, he has worked with companies such as Rado, Karim Rashid, Bosch, Unilever and Canon as well as exhibiting his research into Phase Change Materials at London Design Festival in partnership with DesignJunction a few years ago.

He sees each project as pause for reflection, a formal study in essence, emotion and narrative. The artefacts he creates are not soulless and have a conveyed origin. They exist as something not entirely new but of a progression in Industrial Design history, closely influenced by current affairs and material/technological innovations.
