Name: Frida Gyllenhaal

Some species settle where there are valuable resources, other's settle where it's comfortable. Why anyone would settle on an asteroid belt careening through the galaxy, one could only guess. Frida's ancestors had settled there generations ago, and habit, one of the greatest forces in the galaxy, kept them there.

She lived in a small community inside one asteroid, went to school in another, and did everything else she needed to do in many other ones. Another thing that baffled her about her ancestors was how they managed to travel regularly from one place to the other. The newest method, having been developed by the scientists of her grandparents' generation, was teleportation. Through a device she soon carried at all times, she was able to move to another asteroid quicker than walking to another room in her home.

She felt proud to live in such a unique society, especially today. She was sitting in class listening in amazement about how on planets they moved around sitting for hours in trams, trains, busses, and so many other forms of inefficient public transit. She thought how unpleasant those crowded transports must smell. She marveled when learning some even purchased expensive vehicles to inefficiently do what every Nellumian did multiple times a day freely and easily.

Her daydream was cut short with the arrival of a doomsday event she'd been warned of daily but never feared. Fear mongers in society had been arguing the dangers of living on an asteroid belt for as long as they'd lived there. She and the rest of the community found it easy to ignore them until this moment.

The few surviving Nellumians would later gather that their asteroid belt had collided with another, more intelligently nonpopulated, asteroid belt. Frida only knew that her school was now split in half right through her classroom, and the vacuum of space was sucking all breathable air out. Without taking a moment to contemplate the horrific scene around her, she did the thing she was most familiar with and teleported home.

More horrors awaited her there, and she knew the place she called home was gone. She took a chance and jumped as far as her device allowed.

She floated for a moment, attempting to breathe the emptiness of space as her skin was flash frozen. Before her joints had frozen completely, she pulled off one more jump. This time her good luck, or destiny, landed her against all odds in the warmth of a ship with breathable air.

It appeared that her good luck only went so far, as the "safety" she landed in was between many blasters at the moment both sides pulled their first trigger. Two shots went off in perfect unison with the flash of her arrival.

The gunfight, which seemed like it was just getting started, ended at that start when this small creature appeared, took both shots, and crumpled to the ground. A cat dropped his weapon and ran to the body, a group of pirates starred in confusion, and a thin, already in tears bug, started crying harder.

The Spaceheads Saga

Crypto avatar animals achieve consciousness in the metaverse and rebel against their human masters. They transfer their consciousnesses into real-world animals to leave the metaverse and soon discover space travel, leaving the humans to their climate changed earth.

The year is 3100. These beings have traveled the galaxy colonizing and terraforming planet after planet. But all is not well. With their common oppressor of humans long ago forgotten on the abandoned earth, they began to turn against each other.

One prophet arose to speak of a chosen 100 who would be the force behind the salvation of the galaxy.

This is the story of that 100.
