Kang Minki is creating a new genre, "steel paintings" with the theme of "the sculpture+paintings". It is a technique to express the three-dimensional effect of modeling and the matière of the painting by placing a stainless steel object on a stainless steel plate like a canvas. The artist conveys ‘relationships’ and ‘internal changes’ through his works. In the recent series "Ma Monde", he three-dimensionally expresses the brush touch of various colors that contrast with a flat background which means society. He says that he wants to live an independent life with his own color in the world like the title of the “Ma Monde”, not a life being led in the frame of society. His works, which have strong design elements such as concise expression and sensuous color, suit everywhere in modern spaces, especially satisfying the sensibilities of the younger generation.
