「機械仕掛けのドーナツ」が目を覚ました頃、遥か遠くの部長の住む世界では、機械のマスクの中で「ドーナツの穴の中の空気」と同じ成分の空気が作られ続けていました。マスクの連続稼働が96時間を超えた時、異変は突然やってきました。マスクに搭載されているモーターの振動と、ドーナツの穴の中の空気の振動に共振現象が起こり、マスクの外殻温が急激に上昇し始めたのです。

高熱を帯びたマスクはホールド力を失い、ついには外れてしまいました。マスクの中の空気が外気に触れたところで、さらなる変化が生じます。論理的になればなるほど、創造性とは失われていくものです。今、ここで起きた事象を論理的に説明ができる者は、誰もいません。マスクが外れた部長がいる場所では、まさに何かが創造されようとしていました。
