Ogham is an Early Medieval alphabet used to write the Irish language and this is the symbol of the Ash tree. Certain druid accounts indicate the realm between earth and sky were connected or held together by the mighty ash. The ash was commonly used for protective rituals because it was believed that helpful energies were contained within its great body. Specifically, the ash was thought to be the guardian of children.
