The last two years of our lives taught us how to be more comfortable with our own selves. How to create a life within the four walls of our houses. It taught us how to learn, grow, change and be better in our own space.
We changed the world around us and within us by being in our little bubble in these two years. We transformed and blossomed in the ways we never thought that we’d do.
This artwork uses surrealism and layers of symbolism to express own true selves being molded and shaped during the pandemic by the blooming of white lilies.
I applaud everyone for going through tough times of change, captivity and mental stress yet making through every single day with positivity and hope. For making the best out of what you had, for discovering yourself and doing everything you could to create a beautiful world around you. A home that was truly built by you.
A collection of surreal artworks that uses the human form and portraits as a vehicle to showcase the intensity and profound strangeness of the collective human experience. The transformations and careful placements of my subjects alongside symbolic elements serve to represent the experience of emotions we feel inevitably as humans. In this series of artworks, instead of focusing on literal representations of the world, I attempt to depict the surreal and abstract qualities of our subjectivity with the goal of creating works with a deep emotional resonance.
